01:12 am - QOTD and a nice contrasting story to go with it... "I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image." Truer words have never been spoken. The contrasting story? The other day on my way into the city... Whilst waiting for a train, a man with one arm amputated walked down the platform. This caught the attention of a busy and bouncing little girl about 6 or so... who turned to her mum and exclaimed - "That man has only one arm!" The mother quite quickly hushed the girl in an attempt to save embarrassment. The little girl looked sideways at her mum and said - "What's wrong with saying that? That just means he is special, and special means different, which is a good thing isn't it?" The guy gave her a smile and kept on walking. Sometime I think there is some hope for our species when I see things like that. *looks at time* adverse sleeping patterns are throwing me out of wack. 09:25 am - Something's in the air....? Weird sleep and dreams... I wish I could remember them, I should really start a dream diary :/ One of them woke me up in the wee hours... nothing like timtams and a warm cup of milk at 4am to get you back into bed ^_^ However, I woke up this morning, and something felt... different. I can't quite figure it out, but something inside of me has shifted a little to the left... or right. "It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen." lol - well it seems to have happened over night... either that or it's gradually been coming to fruition and I'm only just seeing it now... It's a good thing. Motivation stirring inside of me, renewed energy and desire to get out there and make things happen and work. I'm mixing again, a few hours a day now, studying for finals is pretty much out of the way, except for a few small revision sessions before the exam... new opportunities and exciting endeavors lay dormant, ready for the next half of the year. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and at that light is a new road of fantastic possibilities. This first half of the year seems to have been drenched in sadness, hurt, confusion, depression and a general feeling of being lost. For the second half, I see nothing but happiness and.... "good". Now with a totalled front bar, severely indented front left quarter panel, twisted and semi crumpled bonnet, and completely smashed front left light assembly... WHY HAS MY LUCK IN THE PAST WEEK BEEN SO FUCKING BAD!!!!!!!!! 02:11 am - Philosophy: not just a state of mind! So, this is what I've been working on over the past 4 weeks. Philosphy as a course, is hard. Simply put. Give me physical sciences any day -_-. They are a different kind of hard, though. As much as they are testing critical reasoning and a general ability to argue a point, I can't help but be hindered by the fact that most of the content of this course is not assessable! I like being put to the test however. Being put on the spot to logically and rationally argue my view across on this sort of meta-physical subject matter kicks my motivation and general sense of intelligence into overdrive. I have a tendancy to waffle on and get caught up in the romantic aspects of the subject matter of philosophy rather then arguing my point effectively. This troubles me :/ Heh - QOTN: "One thing ive always loved about u, craig, is ur backwards smileys ...... DEFY CONVENTION!"
